In an effort to become more Google friends, Mizozo has taken steps to remove 4725 articles from its servers. The articles that have been removed fall into two categories, Spam and Copied Content. We will continue to analyze our articles, possibly removing more.
We had previously mentioned how we were no longer going to copy content from other sites, we have now decided that it isn't in our interest to keep these articles on our server at all so we have removed them. If your site was one of the ones previously copied, we apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, but we feel that it is in the best interest of Mizozo to keep the site as Google friendly as possible, hence such a move was made.
As for Spam, until today we have been reasonably tolerant of spam like articles. So long as the content was more than a link and some basic text, we allowed the articles to be posted. We have changed our position on these types of articles and now require predominantly original content. You can still link to your site if you wish, you simply now need to put forth effort into making the Mizozo article unique and meaningful, not simply copying chunks of the content from one place and pasting them elsewhere.
In the next day or so we will be putting together a list of new requirements for what we expect of all articles on Mizozo. This, too, will have to deal with content, although we are not planning on taking any steps to purge Mizozo of previously posted articles that do not conform to the new rules. However, we do reserve the right to remove anything from our server at any time for any reason.
Thank you, we now return you to your regularly scheduled program ...

Mizozo is being set to Autopilot
Due to other responsibilities of our volunteer staff, it looks like Mizozo will be left to autopilot for the next few months. Come January, things will still be changing ... but until then, I fear that not a great deal of time will be available by myself and others that are helping out.
Interestingly enough, much of this stems from the Stumbleupon Soft Ban. While there isn't a direct relationship, these past two months have seen a dramatic drop in Mizozo's viewership, a drop which makes writing all the more difficult. Of course, we are still seeing over 20,000 page views per day, but previously our numbers were almost twice that on average, with peaks that reached almost 10 times that. Those peaks seemed to be the driver of many of our writers, and without them the excitement seems to have faded.
We expect that once the competitive edge is added to Mizozo, where we will be giving out prizes and paying out dividends, the excitement will return. Who wouldn't want to win cool gadgets or interesting gifts each month? In the meantime, though, things will be a bit quieter here on the blogging front due to the fact that not much will be going on. New articles will, of course, be posted daily to Mizozo (unfortunately predominantly in the Entertainment category) and we will keep our Monthly reports going, but with little going on behind the scenes blogging about it will be all the more difficult.
None the less, stay tuned for more insight into our future plans, our future goals, and interesting developments. One things for sure, Mizozo will keep you entertained for decades to come.

Mizozo's July Report
The world of running a website can be a lot of fun and can be a real pain. When dealing with a site like Mizozo, it tends to be a cornucopia of both. July was substantially more painful than fun, but such is life. In July we truly felt the loss of StumbleUpon, and thus a dramatic decrease in earnings. Worse, 3 Interactive pulled some of their more profitable ads for unknown reasons, further making earning more elusive. None the less, the month ended on a high note with the last week seeing a decent traffic increase, so things are looking up once more.
So, here are the numbers (added Pages/Visit)
Number of visitors: 405,732
Number of Pageviews: 689,913
Pages Per Visit: 1.7
Monthly Earning through Matomy Media: $39.08One thing that is immediately noticeable, ever since we stopped copying posts from our friend's blogs, Google almost immediately started sending us more traffic. So, while we lost StumbleUpon, Google's recent boost may soon make up for the loss. I guess we'll soon see.
Monthly Earning through Adcito: $40.58
Monthly Earning through 3 Interactive: $374.79
Estimated Monthly Total: $454.45
Likewise, this month we saw a drastic increase in traffic to SEO articles. Of our top 10 article, 4 of which were SEO posts, and of them our #1 article this month was an SEO post. Strange, while they have generated traffic in the past, never have they hit #1. Because of this, I will add a top 5 SEO list below as well.
