Looking back at 2010

It has been almost 2 years since we started Mizozo.com with the idea of user-based news portal which allows users to provide their own side to the story in an attempt to collaborate, refute or just validate the story. Looking back at 2010, it seems that we are on the right track to achieve our objectives for the website. Our marketing strategy had been purely user-driven by allowing them to share articles using email or social networking/bookmarking sites. So, despite not allocating any funds towards marketing the site, both in terms of advertisements and SEO optimization, we were able to achieve remarkable results for 2010.

Main Achievements for 2010
  • Increased Traffic - Our year over year traffic increased by 623%
  • Increase in number of Active** registered user - Active** registered users increased by over 252%
  • Increased number of articles - Year over year increase of 221%.
  • Articles repeatedly broke our record till date for - most visited, most commented, most rated and most shared stories till now.
  • Two new categories - Travel and Health were added based on user feedback.
  • Faster site - We invested a considerable time and money in making sure that Mizozo.com provides the best user experience, by optimizing the overall web site.
  • Social Networking - You can follow us at Facebook  and Twitter (@Twit_Ab or @Mizozo1).

** Active users are users that have logged into their account at least once every 15 days.

Our Goals for 2011

- Increase number of active users by at least 500%

- Invest in infrastructure to improve the stability of site, especially when we get an excess of 5k hits per minute.
